Your licensed broker should take the time to understand your personal situation, your financial objectives, and your preferences for coverage and benefits of your insurance qoute. Your broker should be available to assist you over the phone when you need help not when their schedule allows or is convenient for -them-. Your broker should give you guidance as to the pros and cons of the different health insurance companies and the plans in Florida (they should be able to give you good objective advice and many times they should be able to tell you things about different companies that would not be able to be published online, which can be an invaluable source of information). Your broker should be licensed and knowledgeable, professional and polite. Don’t accept an answer like, “I don’t know.” Your broker should be honest and helpful like those of us at Insurance Care Direct. Honesty, after all is the best policy and you can’t really put a price on that.

In the state of Florida the Florida Department of Financial Services regulates the insurance premiums. This is the standard in every state. You are protected as a consumer! There are laws in place to make sure that the consumer will get the exact same price for insurance whether they use a broker/agent or go directly to the company. The insurance companies set the rates and the rates are regulated so as to make sure they are the same no matter where the consumer purchases the policy. There is no such as thing as getting a better deal, obtaining a discount, or price haggling. Beware of agents who try to do this. Beware of anyone who tells you otherwise.
An advantage to working with a broker versus purchasing directly from the insurance company is that the broker can help you compare quotes from multiple companies side by side on an ongoing basis and explain the benefits to you on a friendly and professional level. Some of the terms may be confusing or hard to understand if you shop alone….a good agent will walk you through a quote step by step to ensure you get the benefits at the affordable price you need.

A Florida health insurance brokerage like Insurance Care Direct (technically referred to in the state of Florida as an independent health insurance agent) has many licensed and knowledgeable agents that can work with many different insurance companies simultaneously. A Florida health insurance broker (independent agent) can shop their client case to multiple insurance companies like and help their clients compare insurance quotes and plans from many different insurance companies United Healthcare, Aetna, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Florida and Humana. (Hint: Be wary of an agent that claims to work with many companies but will never show you quotes from more than one company.) You should aim to compare quotes from about 3 different companies side by side. Just do not mistake quantities for quality when it comes to insurance selection. You of course want to be comparing reputable companies. A warning flag should go up if you have never heard of the insurance company before. In most cases you will want to go with well known and dependable companies like United Healthcare, Aetna, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Florida and Humana.

Whether you already know it or not the USA has a lot of options for affordable health insurance. There are companies that we all heard of like United Health Care/ Golden Rule and there are some companies that we never heard of. With all the Health Insurance companies out there you might be wondering what the differences are and which one is right for you and your family.
First , the health insurance companies you should be looking at are; Aetna, Assurant, Blue Cross, Blue Shield, and new company that is going to be available in state of California is Golden Rule which is underwritten by United Health Care. All of these companies offer competitive quotes and rates that are regulated by the state in which you live. These are the largest health insurance carriers that are available.
If you are looking at any other company that was not mentioned previously, use caution. With all the health insurance quotes and premiums going up there are companies that prey on people with low premiums and coverage that does not cover anything. They are just out there to make a quick buck by collecting as much as they can before you cancel your coverage. Stay away from companies that you never heard of, not matter what they tell you. If you hear something like, “guaranteed coverage no matter what”, run.
Second what you have to understand that the actual cost of insurance no matter what company you go with is about the same. So how do insurance companies have so many different plans with different quotes? If it is a large insurance company and the company ran efficiently that is how you get great premium with great coverage. What creates variety of prices for insurance coverage is the creative aspect of the insurance company designing their plans. The way they do it is by deductibles, co-pays, co-insurance, drug coverage deductibles, whether the plan covers brand name drugs or generic drugs only, maternity coverage, maximum out of pocket, deductible and co-pays for all kind of different services.

Affordable health insurance quotes are hard to come by today if you are not so healthy. Costs of medical services are on the rise and Health Insurance quotes increase on average of 15% per year. It is very interesting to know that many American pay their large medical bill with the help of health insurance. As the cost of Health Insurance quotes and premiums also rises dramatically it is very important for every one to understand the different Family Health Insurance plan offered by many Insurance companies.
According to a survey conducted by Kaiser Family Foundation, the yearly premium for Health Insurance is around $ 10,880 in the year 2006. This figure causes trouble and concern in many political parties since the rising in the Health Insurance quotes and premiums has direct effect to numbers of individuals covered. In the year 2001 69 % of employed Americans are covered under Health Insurance, where as in the year 2006 only 60 % of Americans are covered under Health Insurance. Have your Family covered with an affordable health insurance quote here….

Health insurance companies will feel the pain from the economic recession. In the past, the healthcare industry was viewed as a recession proof industry and a safe place for investors during times of economic difficulty. But presently, health insurance carries are predicting that their profits and the amount of clients will be decreasing. This theory comes from two focal areas. The first point will lead from employers across the country dropping their healthcare benefits. As small and mid-sized businesses feel the pain from the economy, even more are being forced to analyze different ways to cut costs. Since healthcare and health insurance has become so expensive, cutting it out is becoming a viable option to cut costs.
In past recessions, health insurers were viewed as a solid investment since healthcare is a necessity. But in today’s market, health insurance has become so expensive, that many individuals are choosing to live without it. This becomes a high risk for families living without health insurance. The health insurance carriers may be on the brink of cutting health insurance premiums to become competitive and regain more clients. It doesn’t seem evident that the health insurance companies are at this point yet. An economics standard of supply and demand determining price should affect the healthcare market in the future. The demand for health insurance is undoubtedly dropping as less people can afford the monthly premiums. This drop in demand should force prices to drop as insurance companies begin to struggle. The only question is, how far into a recession will we need to go before the health insurance companies begin to feel the affects. These companies have been able to avoid this in the past and they may be able to avoid it again….however, you can find affordable health insurance quotes here.

Patients who travel to other countries are referred to as Medical Tourists. A recent study shows that these tourist travel to other countries for a few different main reasons. The majority of patients traveling to the US and other industrialized countries to seek a better quality of medical care or to obtain the latest in medical advances which may be unavailable in their country. But a growing number of patients are beginning to travel to other countries to seek lower costs. In the USA, 710,000 procedures are performed per year at an average of $50,000 per procedure for a grand total of $35 billion in revenue. These procedures could be done overseas for about $15,000 less per procedure. Though, it may be more likely for most patients to stay in the US since they also rely on affordable medical insurance.
Since most medical tourists are uninsured, we may see a rise in medical tourism as the number of uninsured grows in the United States. In fact, it’s extremely important for our country to focus on expanding the number of insured and cutting costs in the medical industry. Otherwise we are going to begin to lose a large portion of what makes up our GDP. The costs of the medical industry have been constantly escalating over the years and we need to begin to control the costs because we run the risk of chasing away our own citizens. Most other countries are just as competent to perform the majority of these procedures; and even though the majority of medical tourists are wealthy, we may begin to see a trend if it becomes more cost effective to travel out of the United States to seek medical care. You can find affordable health insurance quotes at Insurance Care Direct.

There are several affordable health insurance plans that you can receive a quote on.You just need to make sure you are insured by a reputable insurance company to provide you with reasonable quotes that will pay your medical insurance claims and provide you with the healthcare insurance coverage you need.
Instant quotes are a great tool for finding the best health insurance, but they can’t replace the knowledge and advice a good agent can provide.
Types of Health Insurance Quotes available to you:
- HMO’s – Health Maintenance Organizations
- Health maintenance organizations typically only provide coverage when you use their network providers (except for emergencies).
- HMO networks are smaller and require referrals for specialists like GYNOB’s.
- HMO’s use a copay system to share costs which really helps.
- HMO’s have also started to add deductibles in order to reduce their risk and lower premiums.
- HMO’s offer better maternity coverage than the PPO’s do.

- PPO’s give you more control over the decision making process.
- PPO’s share costs through an annual deductible and co-insurance. Since you choose the deductible you have maximum control in managing your risk.
- PPO’s usually offer copays for doctor visits and prescriptions medications as an option.
- PPO members are entitled to the network medical providers contracted rate for covered services. These discounts can be substantial.

When it comes to buying health insurance, most people don’t want to think about it. The last thing we have time for is to meet and entertain a train of boring nasaly insurance agents across our kitchen table. Possibly the person we meet is a friend of a friend or an office referral. This person usually represents a ‘primary insurance company’ that he/she will try to push you to buy, or after showing some resistance or hesitation, the agent reaches into his briefcase and offers another lower cost insurance product. We then blindly make the insurance purchase without really never knowing if we bought a good insurance program or if we are over paying for coverage. Often buyers remorse sets in, but we can’t imagine interviewing a string of new agents. We settle for what we bought until a claim is made and our insurance program doesn’t offer that key benefit that we thought was included. Then we are stuck. Crud.

The U.S. Census Bureau statistics find that the median household in the U.S. earn approximately $48,000 annually. A survey titled, ‘2008 Benefits and Talent Survey,’ revealed that the median annual contribution for family healthcare coverage is $3,120, which is a 15 % increase from 2007 and 22% increase from 2006.
Meanwhile, employers are shifting much of their health plan cost increases back to the employee by selecting lower priced healthcare plans that require employees to pay for more medical care costs through higher co-payments, plan deductibles or routine costs in excess of a few office visits and wellness check ups.
With the threat of a severe recession, in today’s economy, many small businesses are turning to the web to shop for affordable employee benefits. Online shopping allows you to compare multiple insurance companies’ products. Once a plan design is chosen, shoppers can compare policies, rates and features, rx plans and various benefits. What once took days or weeks to obtain a proposal, now takes minutes. Another common strategy for small or family operated businesses is to compare group insurance policies against individual health insurance options. Individual plans continue to grow in popularity as they offer a larger selection of products, allowing the consumer the ability to mix and match coverages, selecting the plan features that are most important to you. Why pay for features that are not important or you do not need, such as: maternity, chiropractic or Name Brand Rx medications.
Insurance Care Direct is an online brokerage firm that offers instant insurance comparisons from America’s finest companies like Golden Rule and Humana, all competing for your business. Licensed insurance agents are waiting to speak with you….give us a call!
